Here’s a Viognier from an area of northern Rhône. Granitic soil with some sand and clay proves to be ideal for these vines grown along south-west facing slopes. The grapes were hand picked and the wine shows notes of tropical fruits- pineapple and mangoes. This pretty wine will show its best for 2 to 3 more years! This rich wine will match shellfish, scallops, crabs as well as hold up to mildly spiced Indian and SE Asian dishes. Try it also with soft cheeses such as chèvre or a creamy French Brie.
